The best way to learn about this event is by visiting: Dharmawheels.org.
Our annual pilgrimage starts on Saturday at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, CA for check-in, meditation and a talk. We ride from there to Sebastopol to visit the Sae Taw Win II Monastery for lunch and a talk.
We continue on to the KOA campground in Cloverdale for a swim, shower, dinner and a meditation. We sleep overnight there at mile 84.
On Sunday, we wake up for a early morning mediation, a hearty breakfast and continue on to visit the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Ukiah for a tour, talk and lunch.
Our final destination is at the Abhayagiri Monastery in Redwood Valley where we sit for the ending ceremony and afterward get on our bus to be taken back to Spirit Rock. (2nd day: 53 miles)
Along the way, there are rest stops for liquids and sustenance every 10 to 15 miles. A gear truck hauls your tent, luggage and brings your bike back to Spirit Rock.
There are other teams that help the BBP function throughout the two days.
It’s all very well planned and organized by the Board, Coordinators and Volunteers of the Dharmawheels Foundation.
This is a Dana event which is based on your generosity.
Please join us if you’re inclined.
