A Worldwide Earth Hour Celebration. Join us in a sangha potluck at Betty and Joel’s house from 6:00-9:30. We’ll eat, visit, have a sit and then turn out the lights from 8:30-9:30 to honor the earth.
Uniting people by protecting the planet – Earth Hour is a global campaign that raises awareness about climate change on the last Saturday of March every year, from 8.30 to 9.30pm. Founded by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2007, it encourages people in over 160 countries to voluntarily turn off their lights for an hour as a synchronized global gesture of concern about the devastating consequences of climate change.
The Schreck’s have a view and we’ll be able to see lights go out in Berkeley and across the bay.
For more information go to: www.earthhour.org. Email Giedra (or phone 510-525-3328) if you have ideas or activities that you would like to share with us on the 28th.
Take Marin Ave to the top. The cross street is Grizzly Peak Blvd. Go 1 more block (there is a stop sign) to Creston Rd. Turn left. The address is 689 Creston Rd, house is on the right. The address is mounted on the side of the house. If you happen to arrive after sundown, and can’t see the address, there is a green lantern in front of our house.
