Hello Friends,

Like many of you, I was deeply moved by Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony at the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. I’d like to explore with you the impact of this cultural moment together. This week’s talk will be entitled “The Third Precept: Trauma, Respect and Cultural Wake-up”. There is much to reflect on and learn as we all go through this process together.

The traditional presentation of the Third Precept is: I undertake the training precept to refrain for sexual misconduct.

Here’s another version from Manzanita Village:
Aware of abuse and lovelessness in the world and of the healing that is made possible when we open to love.
I stand in the presence of the ancestors, the Earth, and future generations and vow to cultivate respect for the beauty and erotic power of our bodies.

I hope you join us for a rich discussion on this timely and important topic for us all.

Much Metta,
James
