Hello Dear Dharma Friends,

I look forward to being with you tonight at the Monastery for our weekly sitting. I want to follow up on last week’s talk “Hatred Never Ceases By Hatred” with tonight’s topic “Conscientious Compassion”.

Conscientious Compassion is the phrase coined by Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi who talks of true compassion as being proactive commitment to uplift those who are suffering. The Buddha taught that the roots of suffering are greed, hatred and delusion. Now more than ever, these forces are having a megaphone that stirs fear and separation in our world. What will we do about it? The full expression of the awakened includes having the courage to stand up against these forces in order to bring more consciousness and love into the world.

Come join us to explore together our personal response to these crazy times.
James
