Dear Friends,

I look forward to being with you and sharing the Dharma at the Monastery.  Doors open at 7:15pm and close at 9:30pm for straightening the hall.

I want to explore the idea of individual and collective karma. What is the responsibility of the individual member of a society when that society is creating suffering for many?

Description: Karma, the unfolding situation of our individual lives, is often understood to be dependent on our actions. These are, in turn, based on the intention of our underlying mind state. But what about societal conditions—including prejudice and inequality—that affect people’s lives? Is there collective karma? If so, can we affect it?

I hope you join us.

Much metta,
James
