I’ll be with you this Thursday for our weekly meditation and Dharma talk. Last week I offered a self-compassion meditation. It seemed like the right meditation to meet the heightened anxiety and overwhelm that many have been experiencing. This week I’ll offer a similar meditation in hopes that it meets your needs and brings some balance and ease.
The Dharma talk will focus on wise effort, how to cultivate it and how it becomes a power for our practice. To continue bringing our practice understanding “off the cushion” we’ll also explore how our effort relates to our actions and apathy. When we see harm being caused in the world, we can use our practice to turn towards it and take a compassionate stand. When there is so much harm and suffering on our radar, it’s hard to sustain that engagement. We can look through the lens of Dharma to understand how to sustain wise effort in our practice as well as in the world as community members and global citizens.
