The following East Bay Kalyana Mitta Groups are accepting new members:
- Berkeley: New ethnically and culturally-diverse, peer-led group seeking people of diverse experiences, ages, and colors. Focus on developing Equanimity and Loving Kindness. Twice a month, Tuesdays 7:30 – 9:30. Meditate for 30-40 minutes, brief check-in, book discussion, intention setting, brief closing meditation, check-out. Also seeking co-facilitator and multiple hosts. Contact Verna Lim.
Oakland Fruitvale: District group meets 2 Mondays a month, 4 pm – 5:30 pm.
- North Berkeley: Group of mature women and men has openings for two or three new members. Our leader, David Cook, is a graduate of the Dedicated Practitioner Program at Spirit Rock. We meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 7 – 9 pm, at a home on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way near Rose. We usually read a book (recently Ram Dass, and Tsoknyi Rinpoche). We sit for 30 minutes, have tea, and discuss the reading and other dharma topics. After getting acquainted with us, we request a commitment of 6 months. Please contact David Cook for further details.
